As part of my practice-led research, I’m investigating how I might go about creating fiction informed by oral histories. I’m interested to see if and how other writers, oral historians and artists have incorporated interviews into their creative/historical works. How do different artists/writers approach this task? What methodologies are used? How do they contextualise and interpret the interviews?
I’m currently compiling a list of books informed by interviews and oral histories. I’m thinking perhaps of compiling an (online?) anthology of stories about collecting stories. I’d love to hear others perspectives and stories–feel free to leave a comment.
